Blackie Blog- Hello again all!

Hello everybody,
Hope you're all doing well out there & the weather's a little more pleasing than here, wherever you might be.
Well as Tom said it's all busy here as we're drawing near to the release date, but as you know the big operation (Oh!) of organising all that needs to occur over the next few months is well and truly underway.
We noticed that there may have been some upset caused by cancellations, unfortunately this is unavoidable sometimes. In the case of the Wakarusa Festival it was mostly due to the fact that it took us a while to find a home for the record in the UK, by the time we had secured a record label, we needed to tour it before the World Cup & Festival season began. Our only other option was waiting to release the record & tour in September, which was a poor option. It's an unfortunate result of the fortunate position of having you support us all around the world, that we must sometimes juggle the needs & obligations of those territories. As always it's a difficult decision to cancel something we have already committed to, knowing that some people may be dissappointed as a result. You're continued support is of course very important & greatly appreciated by us all here at Gomez base camp & we can only say sorry for any upset caused in these cases and for any delay in explaining the reasons why.
Cheers,
Blackie

Thanks so much for making a response about this. Although I'm very sad that I won't get to see you guys outdoors (maybe next year?), I know I will enjoy seeing you guys at the Vic in Chicago again! <3

The juggling game is not an easy cross to bear and certainly not envied. We have our Londinium tickets and just wondering if there was any chance of hearing a few ditties in brighton?

I guess you should just never rely on anything that ends with the sound 'oosa'.

So...I have a big back yard if you guys wanna play in Toronto. I'll buy the beer if you bring the rock. Fair compromise, I think.

That was a mighty gracious explanation, Blackster. Yes, I'm proud to say that I am one of the 12 people who ordered up a hard ticket for a Lollapalooza that never happened (you, Elbow, and the Polyphonic Spree were at the top of my list of must-sees).

Cheers, see you in lovely, hot, sunny Boulder in a month (by which time there could be a massive snowstorm)!

Hi! I have to admit that i have just rediscovered Gomez after a number of years but love both Bring it On and Liquid Skin. I kind of lost touch with the whole music scene once I'd finished uni and got a proper job!
When I saw Gomez tickets on sale on a tickets website I got extremely excited and will be seeing you in Shefield at the Leadmill, and hence me also discovering this fab website.
Really looking forward to the gig.
Good luck x laura.x

Just a question for you to noodle. I lost a bet and have to post it. And I am super curious.

Which record best defines your high school/secondary school years?

Thanks for talking to us about Wakarusa, Blackie. Bad feelings are over, plus you're coming to Omaha, Kansas City, and Boulder. That's so much better than one show at Waka. Thanks so much for explaining it all to the fans, though. I, for one, appreciate you taking the time out to talk to us about it. Cheers.

There is an 3-page Gomez ad sponsored by Johnnie Walker in The New Yorker. Did anyone see this? I think it may have been last month's edition (the Fashion issue).
