My flatmate, Claire, who is wonderful, would muchly like to hear Rosalita. (on April 4, though I'm trying to get her come to the 3rd as well) We're also thinking, as we sit in bed eating cookies, that it would be great if you were to cover 'something Australian', like Zebra, by John Butler Trio, or Down Under by the legendary Men at Work.
Personally, I have a special place in my heart for Neutron Dance after hearing the recording from Hotel Cafe, but I think, maybe if I was to choose a cover myself, it would be Girl (by the Beatles, for those who aren't aware.) Or Norwegian Wood, if that's less trouble. I feeling oddly compelled to mention Hey Little Girl and I Ran (So Far Away), and agree enthusiastically with GS ^ on And She Was.
Of course, then there's The Failure Song, and Hamoa Beach, and Devil WIll Ride, and the ever-requested Flavours and Buena Vista. It'd also be cool to hear your interpretation of Even Song. And I could keep going on, but I'm not gonna. See you in Melbourne on the 3rd and 4th, sorry in advance if the weather is a bit shit.
If I was going - damn plan ticket costs - I'd definitely say Failure. Also, I second the Talking Heads suggestion, anything by Talking Heads covered by Gomez is damn fine. As Leocadia suggested, something Australian covered would be kick ass, possibly something by The Sleepy Jackson for suggestion purposes, Mini-Skirt or All The Rage by Gelbison. Six Degrees Of Ian Ball?
Good call on Chicken Out. Just a few came to mind: Pop Juice, Bol Weavil, Buena Vista, Nothing Is Wrong, Do's and Dont's, Extra Special Guy, Cry On Demand, Charley Patton Songs, Hamoa Beach.
Covers ideas: Wilco, Beck, Zutons, Mraz. What do you want play Ian?!

Bollweevil! Excellent idea, MrB.
Nice one E. Do 'sixteen tonnes' at the Hoey again. That was awesome.
Or, you know, 'Bring Your Lovin Back Here' or 'In Our Gun' would do.

E - wear the wolf.
Please play the premature ejaculation song tonight. I promise to act like I've never heard it before ;)
I want Ruff Stuff.
(Double entendre belatedly agknowledged and considered smirk-worthy.)
