Blackie Blogg-Can't Sleep!

Good morning,
6am, 4hrs sleep & wide awake. Feist show was very good last night, great singer & very interesting music.
I know I'm stating the obvious but I wondered last night why we don't all re-use our plastic beer cups at gigs throughout the night rather than get a new one each drink? I took mine back to the bar for a refill & recieved a rather confused look, which made me wonder how few people actually do re-use the cup & why so few? It is 6 in the morning, maybe I'm missing something completely obvious? I understand the whole idea of getting rounds in might be confusing, especially when drunk, but it can't be that hard?
I think I'll try & get some more sleep.

ok, I don't know about other places, but (many) americans don't understand the concept of REUSING anything! Commercial establishments are the worst! If I say in a grocery store that I don't want a bag, either because I brought my own, or because I'm buying one f*ing potato or a bag of pasta and think I can manage getting it home, thanks, well I can't tell you how many times checkers throw it in a bag anyway and say things like, 'oh it's no trouble.' Unclear on the concept. The very idea that someone would actually not want one is confusing. Anyway, I've learned you just have to insist on these things, and I'm working on doing so nicely, which often includes explaining just a little about things like: there's no need to throw this perfectly good cup away. :) Can't wait for Monday! be well...

You're right 4 hours sleep isn't enough, try to get at least 4 more. We like our Gomez well rested and re-energized after visiting the Aussies.

I've found that, provided you party with a sharpie in your pocket, rounds are significantly easier if you re-use your cups. If everyone writes their name and preferred tasty beverage on their cup, one does not need to remember anything except where one is sitting.

I'm jealous, you got the pleasure of seeing Miss Feist. I keep missing her shows. Damnit.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. She is a sight to be seen.

I'm all for recycling however, my placcy cups always break because I stand on them to try to see. (I recommend four stacked on top of each other...most sturdy)

How environmentally friendly Mr Blackie! Good lad. I always re-use the cups myself, and get the same look also. Everytime me and my sister say "No!" to a plastic bag we say "That's a saved dolphin right there you know!" Yeah, ok so now I made us sound psycho...haha, it's just not that much effort really. Say NO! for the cute dolphins Blackie, you can do it!

Someone needs to invent pocket cups (besides Bob Fossil). I think its the idea of holding onto the plastic cup in that space between when you've finished the drink, then you turn around and see all the people behind you and the people at the bar and think: geez, I can't be arsed. I'm telling you, pocket cups are the way of the future.

Hi Guys! I received an email with your new gigs in October. Any thoughts on playing a late show after Vegoose in Vegas?

my problem is most definitely holding onto it between drinks. Im usually just trying to suck it down quickly so I can start actually clapping (saves the throat for when you REALLY need to scream.)

on a similar note, why cant people distinguish between the goddam recycle bin and the trash? trash full of fucking cups, and a near empty recycle bin right next to it.
