Blackie Blogg- New fizzy drink idea!

As I was laying in bed this morning I had a great idea for a new fizzy drink. I was running through the festivals we'd played this year when Pukkelpop came to mind. It got me thinking about how all the juice is usually wasted at the end of a jar of pickled onions. Well, just carbonate this solution & there you have it-PICKLE POP ANYONE? Could be a mixer for martinis?

Oh Blackie, you are so funny. Actually, you could be onto something here.

"A martini becomes a Gibson when garnished with a pickled onion. Back in the 1920s, there was an American diplomat named Gibson who was a teetotaller, but who didn't want people to feel uncomfortable about drinking in his presence. So when he gave a party, he would always serve himself a glass of water in a martini glass, with a pickled onion floating in it. Everyone assumed it was his own exotic variation on a dry martini. And now, it is!"

So... you could market it as Gibson Mixer! What an entrepreneurial mind you have! What other ideas do you have? ;-)

You'll soon be home for the holidays. Enjoy! See you in January.

Peace & Love

I find it curious that when people try and post something, and they think it didn't work, their duplicate post is always a few words different. Like they thought the fact that posting failed was a 'sign' that their syntax was a bit off, so they changed it.

PS I think water with a pickled onion in it is fair punishment for someone who won't take a drink now and then. It sounds far worse than a martini with a pickled onion in it, anyway.

Oh Blackie! You NEVER waste pickled onion vinegar, for it is the elixir of life. Decant into a vinegar shaker for true enlightenment.

Garners pickled onions are the best you'll ever taste. (available in all good UK supermarkets)

Oh Blackie you NEVER waste the left-over pickled onion vinegar for it is the elixir of life!

Decant it into a vinegar shaker for true enlightenment.

well, blackie, I guess you could make it part of a batter or something too. like an onion batter instead of beer...I dunno. but now Im thinking bout some onion rings. mmmmm. or you could make a twist of a gin and tonic...gin and onion. I honestly think people might dig that.

Or you know a cheaper way to induce vomitting would be to just stick your finger down your throat.

This reminds me of a very funny Candid Camera clip I saw years ago: A little girl was handed a jar of whole pickles. The pickles were wedged into the jar so tightly that she couldn't pull one out with her little fingers. But that didn't stop her from trying, and trying, and trying. She really wanted one of those pickles. Finally she just tipped the jar up to her mouth and drank the juice. Ahhhh!

All I can say is, YUM! A 'Dirty Martini' is made with olive juice. We could call it the 'Blackie Martini'. I'm going to try it now, I think. Cheers & see you in San Diego!
